About Daniel

Profile & Position

Daniel is an established Music Artist / Personality, Educator, Public Speaker, and Culture Specialist. His passion for music started at a young age when he recorded his first song at eight years old using a dictaphone and his father’s hi-fi. He later began making cassette mixtapes from his father’s record collection of 1960s – 1980s Reggae, Ska, Motown, and Soul and selling them which eventually earned him his first radio slot at age 11.

He continued to develop his DJ career, forming a group with his peers and went on to supporting international acts in the Urban music scene, playing festivals, concerts, and clubs across the UK, Europe, and Africa and presenting shows on national platforms such as BBC 1xtra.

Using his platform and experience, Daniel created an Artist development model, providing opportunities for young aspiring artists, DJs, and musicians, redirecting them from a life of crime and self-destruction.

Recognising the positive impact of music in education, Daniel founded In Music In Media, a Social Enterprise that supports the development of young people through music activities such as digital music production, songwriting, recording, rapping, singing, and DJ skills. The organisation has designed and delivered programmes for Local Authorities, Youth Justice System, Schools, Colleges, and Alternative Education Providers.

In 2017 Daniel lent his experience to The University of Northampton to create and deliver the record label module for the popular music degree. He also worked as an Associate lecturer for the University in media studies, and published a selection of his “Reggae music & sound system culture” study papers, presenting them at various conferences from UK to the Caribbean.

Daniel’s unique journey is inspiring and filled with a wealth of knowledge, experience, methodologies, and proven concepts which he shares with marginalised youth at risk, demonstrating positive transformation and the mindset needed to overcome challenges when all odds are against you.

He offers valuable advice and guidance for students pursuing a career in the creative industries on how to carve out a financially sustainable career and space in the industry and he encourages adults to pursue neglected talents.
